Patient Philippe

Patience is a virtue, Philippe knows that for sure. Keeping a cool head makes handling tough situations so much easier, and makes being friends with him all the better. When you’re taking forever to order in the drive through, Patient Philippe doesn’t mind. He would rather watch birds out the window than get upset over something small. And when the barista keeps messing up his order, he won’t cause a scene, he could probably use a change for once. There is nothing that could make him blow a fuse, he likes to take his time. He stops to smell the roses while his friends figure out directions to the local bar, and when his karate students are struggling with something he remembers what it was like trying something new for the first time. “Take it easy, there’s no need to rush”.

As life’s many challenges come into view, he reminds his loved ones to keep their head up, and wait patiently. Even as a child his mother would have him with her to run errands, and she would always get onto him for being slow. Always trailing at the back of the line in elementary school, last to the lunch table, and in high school he would often just barely make it to his classes on time. He never procrastinated or missed deadlines, but instead of cramming all his work into one tiny stretch of time he worked on things a little at a time.

Learning a new skill, or changing careers doesn’t happen overnight, so if he’s going to be waiting anyways, then why not take it easy. He can’t control the weather, or make someone a better driver so he doesn’t get worked up over things that aren’t in his control. And when his friends are struggling with hot headedness or procrastination he is ready to help them slow things down a bit.
